Experienced and Knowledgeable Defense Attorneys Fighting on Behalf of Medcal Professionals
On July 13, 2017, the Department of Justice announced the arrest and indictment of more than 400 individuals accused of various forms of healthcare fraud. In a coordinated effort spanning federal agencies and U.S. Attorney’s Offices across the United States, federal prosecutors released the indictments of physicians, business owners, healthcare marketers and other members of the healthcare industry totaling more than 30 jurisdictions. Attorney General Jeff Sessions explained that the supervising Medicare Fraud Strike Force, a joint task force comprised of agents from the Department of Health and Human Services, the Office of Inspector General (OIG), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) and other federal law enforcement groups will continue prosecuting Medicare Fraud, Tricare Fraud, Medicaid Fraud, violations of the Anti-Kickback Statute, and other forms of fraud and abuse in the healthcare sector.
